2013 - FORGED IN SMOKE

What started as an idea to bring authentic southern barbeque to New Hampshire quickly became the driving force for Sausage King of Nashua owner Dave Manganello. Seeking to make his mark as a true culinary player in the Nashua scene Dave looked to transform the ballpark themed Sausage King into something more. After years of planning Riverside Barbeque Co. opened its doors late Fall 2013 in the historic Riverside building as the first authentic pit smoked BBQ joint in Nashua.

Forged in the same footprint as its predecessor Riverside served counter service and take out BBQ in a traditional southern style. With a simple menu and concise selection of craft beer Riverside BBQ made a name for itself for its competition quality ‘Que and quick grab and go atmosphere.

The BBQ was an instant hit and plans for the next phase had begun.

 

 2016 - Expansion

After a successful 3 years in a counter service setting it was time for the restaurant to stretch its legs and grow. After the relocation of the adjacent tattoo parlor Dave moved to expand into the other half of the Riverside historic building. After months of construction the restaurant was born anew with full service dinning, a full cocktail bar, and a stage for live music. With a new atmosphere it was time for a bigger menu. Fan favorites like the Cow-Cow-Pig-Pig and the Pig Pile were added along with a slew of other barbeque inspired entrees, apps, and deserts.

 2019 - The year of the pig

The new year brings new BBQ goodness from Riverside. Look forward to new menu items, new events, and new retail offerings.
